Our
Story
OneLeash Canine Academy was founded by Taylor, a graduate and former instructor at the National K9 School for Dog Trainers. Kristina joined her in 2015 — first as a client, then completing an extensive internship and certification program. Together, they have spent years training and helping families with their dogs in obedience and behavioral cases, while also training and placing police K9s, personal protection dogs, and service dogs.
Over the years, Taylor and Kristina not only worked directly with countless dogs and families, but also trained and mentored other dog trainers, helping them build their own careers in the field. And while they have always remained hands-on with the dogs themselves, they ultimately chose to change direction — scaling back to make it just the two of them once again. This allows them to focus more closely on each client, enjoy the work they love most, and provide a truly personalized experience. From that vision, OneLeash Canine Academy was born.

Certified Professional Trainer | IACP Memeber | AKC CGC Evaluator
Taylor Walton CPT
Taylor’s passion for dogs began at just five years old and has grown into more than 13 years of professional training experience. After earning her certification through the National K-9 School for Dog Trainers, she went on to serve as a trainer and instructor at the school, further refining her skills and mentoring others in the field.
She has titled multiple dogs in American Schutzhund and trained in French Ring, Mondio Ring, PSA, and personal protection. In 2019, she and her German Shepherd Boris von Woden made history as the first German Shepherd team to win Iron Will. Though Boris passed in 2023, his legacy remains an inspiration behind Taylor’s continued dedication to the highest standards of training. Today, she carries that passion forward with her German Shepherd Ben von Woden, who is titled in American Schutzhund.
In addition to her accomplishments with working and sport dogs, Taylor has helped countless families and their pets through behavior modification and obedience training, guiding dogs with challenges such as fear, reactivity, and aggression to become well-balanced companions. She has also trained and placed police K9s, service dogs, and personal protection dogs nationwide, partnering with families and organizations to meet their unique needs.
Together with her longtime colleague Kristina, Taylor leads OneLeash Canine Academy in South Carolina, providing expert training and dog placements for clients across the country.
Taylor holds numerous professional certifications, including Basic Obedience, Advanced Obedience, Utility, Puppy Development, Tracking, Scent Detection, Personal Protection, Police K-9 Training, Retrieval, and Assistance Dog Training — among others.
